Introduction

This old box is what runs this website and other Internet facing services. It is an old CompaqDeskpro, although I have sprayed the case black.

Motherboard

I have retro fitted an 800Mhz Pentium III CPU which replaces the original Pentium III 600Mhz CPU. I have loaded a patched BIOS so I can run it headless which also overrides the "the detected CPU is not compatible" warning. The detected CPU is compatible, at least I have had no problems for the last 5 years :-P

RAM

• 768Mb RAM

Hard Disk

The disks below are LVM'd into a single 80GB volume.

• 1x 20GB
• 1x 60GB

Graphics Card

It has to have a graphic card so it can boot.

• Matrox G400

Other Controllers

• USB 2.0, Firewire, LAN PCI Card
